Radiohead Supercollider/The Butcher Vinyl

To celebrate Record Store Day 2011, Many bands have created limited edition releases which were available to buy, with real money, at real record shops. (none of that internet malarkey)

As it happens, even though the number of record stores is on the decline (hence the national day to raise awareness) we have one just down the road in Malvern. Principally an online store, Classic LPs have regular open days where you can visit their warehouse and do a bit of box diving. They have new, special releases, second hand, rare stuff and do a lovely cup of tea.

I got there bright and early to get my hands on a limited edition Radiohead Vinyl release called Supercollider/The Butcher. Recorded during and after the King of Limbs sessions, these two tracks are reminiscent of Thom Yorke’s solo album, The Eraser.

I have resisted the urge to actually open it and play it, mainly because it is a limited edition (made more interesting by the fact that the labels have been applied to the vinyl incorrectly), and secondly, Radiohead have sent digital copies of the tracks to people who pre-ordered The King of Limbs.

To keep the collection up to date, I also bought The King Of Limbs on vinyl.
